Ed TE 150: Centering on Composition

1 Unit of Full Semester, Graduate Level Credit for attending two or three Fall 2008 Super Saturday Sessions (September 13, October 11, November 8) plus writing either a 5–page or a 3–page typed, double spaced paper due on or before November 30, 2008.

Requirements for 5–Page Paper

  1. Attend two of the three Fall 2008 Super Saturday Sessions* (September 13, October 11, November 8).
    *Make sure to register at the desk to confirm your attendance on these Saturdays!
  2. Complete a 5–page paper, following the steps below:
    1. Tell me something about yourself as a teacher, including the school and district where you teach and the classrooms in which you teach,** that made one or more of the teaching techniques or approaches you learned in our Super Saturday workshops especially appealing or interesting to you (2 pages).
    2. Tell me what you did in your classroom** in order to try out this teaching technique or approach (2 pages).
    3. Tell me whether you found this technique successful, partially successful, or not successful, and tell me why (1 page).

Requirements for 3–Page Paper

  1. Attend all three of the Fall 2008 Super Saturday Sessions* (September 13, October 11, November 8).

**If you are a pre-service teacher, tell me what practices you would intend to use in your future classroom(s), and what you would anticipate your students would learn from these practices.

Final requirement for Shorter or Longer Paper
